TestBoard ("we", "us") operates a beta-testing marketplace connecting app developers with testers, on the web and via our iOS/Android mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address for sign-in and account communication. You may optionally add a display name, avatar, and short bio, which are visible to other users of TestBoard.
Role-specific profile information
If you sign up as a developer, you may optionally provide a company name and website. If you sign up as a tester, you may optionally provide your country, languages, device types, and OS versions you can test on.
Testing email addresses
Testers may register one or more dedicated "testing" email addresses (e.g. a Gmail or Apple ID address) specifically to receive access to a developer's private beta program. These are only shared with a developer once you join their campaign, and you can add or remove them at any time from Settings.
Content you create
This includes campaign applications, expressions of interest, structured feedback you submit on apps (ratings, descriptions, category, and any attachments), reports you file, and direct messages exchanged with other users through TestBoard's built-in messaging.
App listing content (developers)
Developers may upload app icons, screenshots, and other media, along with business details about their app (such as pricing or user counts) if they choose to list it on our marketplace. This content is public by design, since it's what makes an app discoverable.
Device and notification information
On mobile, we store a push notification token and an app-generated random installation identifier so we can deliver notifications to your device. This identifier is not a hardware or advertising ID and is not used for tracking across apps or websites.
Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe (web) or by the Apple App Store / Google Play Store (mobile). We never see or store your card details — we only store the resulting subscription status and identifiers needed to keep your account entitlements up to date.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
•
Operate core features: matching testers with campaigns, delivering messages and notifications, and displaying app listings.
•
Manage your account, including authentication and, where applicable, billing.
•
Maintain trust and safety on the platform, such as processing reports and blocks.
•
Provision closed-beta access on your behalf, by adding your registered testing email to a developer's Google Group or TestFlight beta group when you join their campaign.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not run any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
Who we share information with
•
Stripe — processes web subscription payments. We share your email address and account ID so Stripe can associate a payment with your TestBoard account.
•
Google (Admin SDK / Play Developer API) — when a developer configures Google Groups-based tester provisioning, your registered testing email is added to their group so you can access their closed beta. If you purchase a subscription through the Google Play Store, Google verifies and reports the purchase back to us.
•
Apple (App Store Connect / StoreKit) — the same applies for TestFlight beta access and App Store subscription purchases.
•
Expo — our push-notification provider. Your device's push token and notification content are sent through Expo's push service to be delivered to your device.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@testboard.com.au. You can remove individual testing email addresses yourself at any time from Settings, without contacting support.
